Крупного трейдера обвинили в сознательном обвале биткоина

Группа трейдеров обвинила крупную американскую торговую компанию Jane Street в том, что она несколько месяцев подряд каждый день в определенное время продавала биткоины. Критики считают, что компания намеренно пытается снизить стоимость криптоактива, чтобы потом скупать по выгодной цене.

Трейдеры обратили внимание, что падение цены биткоина последние месяцы начиналось с 10:00 по американскому восточному времени. Пользователь соцсети X под ником Bull Theory заметил, что Jane Street продавала биткоины «каждое утро в 10:00», ликвидировав большое число позиций розничных инвесторов, — а затем вскоре снова покупала актив. 

Поведение компании трейдеры объяснили так: Jane Street является авторизованным участником (AP) спотового биткоин‑фонда BlackRock IBIT и поэтому стремится максимально увеличивать прибыль, в том числе за счет розничных игроков.  

Однако в эту среду, 25 февраля, традиционной распродажи в 10:00 не произошло. В этот день биткоин ненадолго превысил отметку $70 000, а крипторынок прибавил более $170 млрд капитализации. Общая рыночная стоимость выросла примерно на 8% и достигла почти $2,5 трлн. Эфир подорожал более чем на 13%, Solana — на 15%. 

 

По словам Bull Theory, в этот день трейдинговая компания не устраивала распродажу, поскольку был обнародован иск конкурсного управляющего разорившейся платформы Terraform против Jane Street — компанию обвинили в инсайдерской торговле.  

Аналитик Джефф Парк (Jeff Park) утверждает, что «злодеем на рынке биткоина» выступает не какая‑то отдельная фирма, а вся архитектура биткоин-ETF. По мнению Парка, авторизованные участники типа Jane Street работают в серой зоне регулирования и, в отличие от остальных трейдеров, которые обязаны найти и подтвердить наличие акций перед открытием коротких позиций, AP освобождены от такой обязанности. Это позволяет использовать для хеджированные фьючерсы на биткоин, а не сам спотовый актив. Из‑за этого разрывается связь между спросом на ETF и ростом цены на спотовом рынке — то есть рост вложений в ETF уже не приводит автоматически к росту рыночной цены биткоина, объяснил Парк. 

Раньше, чтобы погасить паи ETF, AP должны были покупать биткоин на открытом рынке, что поддерживало цену. Но сейчас этого требования нет, и авторизованные участники могут получать биткоин через частные внебиржевые площадки с минимальным влиянием на рынок. Фактически так они обходят публичные биржи, где формируется рыночная цена, говорит экономист.  

Конкурсный управляющий разорившейся криптоплощадки Terraform Тодд Снайдер (Todd Snyder) ранее обвинил Jane Street в том, что компания получала непубличные сведения от бывшего сотрудника Terraform, что в конечном итоге и привело к краху его платформы.
